Ron Lindsey is a St. Louis based photographer of people, places and performances. His work as a photographer is marked by attention to detail, symmetry, scale and soundness of composition; it is inspired by imagination, emotion and light.

Inspiration exists, but it has to find us working.   picasso

Ron makes stuff that makes people smile! He loves to speak, but hates working a room. He likes people, but preferably in small doses. He loves to write, design and build photographs. Ron revels in the beauty of the morning light as it peeks above the horizon.

He has worked for Union Avenue OperaWinter Opera Saint Louis and Shakespeare Festival St. Louis and its educational outreach programming. His work with these companies has opened him up to a new world of artistic expression and storytelling. Capturing the emotion and dramatic artistry of performances is akin to capturing the beauty of an intimate wedding ceremony.

He has photographed weddings, couples, families, business people, children, beloved pets, duels [Faust], executions [Dead Man Walking], hari-kari [Madama Butterfly], apparitions [Pikovaya Dama], and "the fat lady singing" [Die Walkure]. His work also has been exhibited at the Contemporary Museum of Art St. Louis as part of a collaborative project with students from Cole Elementary School.

You don’t live for photography; you make photographs because it fills you with life.   henri cartier-bresson
